The Cardinals, after four off days in the last 13 days, embark on a grinding, pre-All Star break schedule of 47 games in 48 days beginning Tuesday night in Los Angeles. The next 13 games, nine on the road, will be against potential playoff contenders Los Angeles, Colorado and Chicago, and standing at the front of the line Tuesday is premier Dodgers lefthander Clayton Kershaw.
