Tyler Lyons left the Cardinals' clubhouse Thursday morning to travel to New Orleans, where he'll join the Triple-A Memphis club to begin a Minor League rehab assignment.

Cardinals lefthander Tyler Lyons, who had right knee surgery this offseason, has been sent on a medical rehabilitation option to Class AAA Memphis and will start at New Orleans on Friday night. Lyons can be on the option as long as 30 days.
