The St. Louis Cardinals announced today that left-handed pitcher Kevin Siegrist has been placed on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to June 30, due to mononucleosis.

After two weeks of trying to determine why he was feeling so weak, Kevin Siegrist learned through blood testing on Thursday that he has mononucleosis. Consequently, the Cardinals moved the left-handed reliever to the 15-day disabled list and replaced him in the bullpen with right-hander Sam Tuivailala.
