Cardinals Minor League Spring Training Notebook 3-30-16: Matt Williams Hits Two Home Runs & Drives In Three Runs; Charlie Tilson Singles Twice, Homers, & Knocks In Three Runs; Jacob Evans Strikes Out Four Over Four Scoreless Innings



Camp Day Due To Weather:

Triple-A Memphis Beat Double-A Springfield 9-6:

Memphis:
Jonathan Rodriguez (Memphis) covered first base and went 3-for-3 with two doubles, one RBI,  and two runs.
Charlie Tilson (Springfield) manned centerfield and went 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBIs, one run, and one strikeout.
Matt Williams (Memphis) was designated hitter and went 2-for-4 with two home runs, three RBIs, and two runs.
John Church (Las Vegas - New York-N) pitched one inning and allowed no hits or runs, and struck three out.
Corey Baker (Springfield) pitched two inning and allowed no hits or runs, and struck four out.

Springfield:
Harrison Bader (Peoria) manned centerfield and went 3-for-5 with one double, one triple, one home run, one RBI, two runs, and one strikeout.
Breyvic Valera (Springfield) covered shortstop and went 4-for-5 with two RBIs and one strikeout.
Jacob Evans (State College) pitched four innings and allowed two hits, no runs, and struck four out.
Corey Littrell (Palm Beach) pitched one inning and allowed no hits or runs, and struck one out.


Single-A Peoria Beat A-Advanced Palm Beach 5-2:

Palm Beach:
Danny Diekroeger (Palm Beach) covered third base and went 1-for-2 with two RBIs.
Allen Staton (Palm Beach) covered third base and went 2-for-2 with one double.
Ian McKinney (Palm Beach) pitched four innings and allowed three innings, one earned run, and struck two out.

Peoria:
R.J. Dennard (State College) covered first base and went 2-for-4 with one double, one RBI, and one run.
Landon Beck (Peoria) pitched three innings and allowed no hits, one earned run, one walk, and struck two out.


3/31/16: Triple-A and Double-A affiliates visit New York-N clubs while A-Advanced and Single-A will host.
