In the wake of season-ending injuries sustained by infielders Ruben Tejada of the Mets and Jung Ho Kung of the Pirates in 2015, along with others before, Major League Baseball already has begun to address new rules for sliding. Addressing the media at the GM meetings in Florida on Wednesday, the league's chief baseball officer, Joe Torre, strongly implied that change was coming -- though it not come as soon as some want.
