In a surprise move Wednesday afternoon, the St. Louis Cardinals announced that Michael Wacha would be replaced on the mound for tonight's game by left-hander Tyler Lyons, who was among three players recalled from Triple A Memphis.

The St. Louis Cardinals today have optioned last night's starter Marco Gonzales to Memphis (Triple-A) and recalled two left-handed pitchers - Tyler Lyons and Nick Greenwood - and right-handed pitcher Miguel Socolovich, all from Memphis. Lyons will make the start tonight against Washington at 7:15 p.m. CDT.
