The St. Louis Cardinals announced prior to tonight's series opener with the Chicago White Sox that they have placed right-handed pitcher Matt Belisle (right elbow inflammation) on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to June 26, and have purchased right-handed reliever Marcus Hatley from Memphis (AAA). To make room for Hatley on the team's 40-man roster, reliever Jordan Walden has been transferred from the 15-day disabled list to the 60-day disabled list.
