Matt Adams Has Surgery On Complete Tear Of Quad

Cardinals first baseman Matt Adams underwent surgery on Friday to repair what team orthopedist Dr. David King found to be a full tear of Adams' right quadriceps muscle. Because the injury was more severe than initially evident on an MRI, Adams is expected to need approximately four months to recover.

The good news is that the surgery to repair Matt Adams' torn right quadriceps was successful with no complications and an expected full recovery.

The surgery to repair the torn quadriceps of St. Louis Cardinals first baseman Matt Adams went well on Friday morning, but General Manager John Mozeliak shared there has been an adjustment to the timetable for his return.
