Cardinals Minor League Spring Training 3-31-15: Mike Mayers Strikes Out Three Over Five Scoreless Innings; Corey Littrell Strikes Out One Over Four Scoreless Innings; Rafael Ortega Hits A Two-Run Homer

Triple-A: Memphis & New Orleans (Miami) Tied 3-3

Patrick Wisdom (Springfield) covered third base and went 2-for-3 with one double.
Luke Voit (Palm Beach) covered first base and went 2-for-3 with one double.
Rafael Ortega (Memphis) manned centerfield and went 1-for-1 with one home run, two RBIs, and one run.
Ryan Sherriff (Memphis) pitched one inning and allowed no hits or runs, one walk, and struck one out.


Double-A: Springfield & Jacksonville (Miami) Tied 2-2

David Popkins (Springfield) manned left field and went 1-for-4 with one run.
Mike Mayers (Memphis) pitched five innings and allowed two hits, no runs, and struck three out.


A-Advanced: Palm Beach Beat Jupiter (Miami) 6-5

Blake Drake (Johnson City) manned right field and went 2-for-3 with two runs and one walk.
Danny Diekroeger (State College) covered third base and went 3-for-5 with two runs.
Corey Littrell (Palm Beach) pitched four innings and allowed one hit, no runs, one walk, and struck one out.


Single-A: Peoria Beat Greensboro (Miami) 4-3

Anthony Ray (Johnson City) manned centerfield and went 2-for-5 with two RBIs and one run.
Oscar Mercado (Johnson City) was designated hitter and went 2-for-5 with two doubles and two RBIs.
Matt Pearce (Johnson City) pitched four innings and allowed five hits, one earned run, and struck three out.


Short-Season Single-A: State College Beat Batavia (Miami) 2-0

Eliezer Alvarez (Gulf Coast) covered second base and went 2-for-4 with one run and one strikeout.
Jake Gronsky (Gulf Coast) covered third base and went 1-for-4 with two RBIs.
Ronnie Williams (Gulf Coast) pitched two innings and allowed one hit, no runs, and struck one out.
Bryan Dobzanski (Gulf Coast) pitched two innings and allowed no hits or runs, one walk, and struck one out.


Wednesday's Games:
St. Louis' Triple-A and Double-A will visit St. Lucie while A-Advanced and Single-A clubs host New York-N.
