A few weeks after the Boston Red Sox released A.J. Pierzynski and a few former teammates hurled anonymous verbal darts in the media as he walked away, Hall of Fame inductee Frank Thomas celebrated, on social media, Pierzynski’s presence at a dinner in Cooperstown, N.Y. The last-place 2014 Red Sox seemed eager to move Pierzynski out, and the 2005 World Series champion White Sox couldn’t wait to welcome him to the Thomas party.
