Rosenberg, 23, was an undrafted free agent signing by the Cardinals in July of 2013 out of the University of South Carolina. The right-handed hitting catcher was placed with Short-Season Single-A State College to begin his professional career. He played in 16 games going 5-for-36 (.139) with one double, one RBI, six total bases, two runs, one walk, four strikeouts, .205 OBP, .167 SLG, and .372 OPS.
This transaction adds a third catcher to the Memphis roster as Audry Perez and Ed Easley were already placed in the Pacific Coast League after spring camp broke.
