Cardinals Starting Lineup 4-19-14

Lance Lynn gets his chance to become the Majors’ first four-game winner today as he faces the Nationals in the third game of a four-game series. As he did on Monday, Lynn will be throwing to catcher Tony Cruz. It worked last time, as Lynn tossed seven scoreless innings with Cruz behind the plate.

The Cardinals have lefty Tyler Lyons warm and ready to take the start Monday against the New York Mets in place of injured righty Joe Kelly.

Lance Lynn will take the hill Saturday afternoon in hopes to give the Cardinals the series lead after falling to the Nats Friday. Lynn is 3-0 on the year with 22 strikeouts, which puts him behind Adam Wainwright (32) for the team lead. In 18.0, Lynn has only given up 8 earned runs with a 1.28 WHIP.

Tony Cruz will be behind the plate for the St. Louis Cardinals in the rubber game of their three game series in Washington this afternoon. Cruz also caught Lynn’s last outing–a 7-inning, 3-hit, 11 strikeout, shutout performance against Milwaukee last Monday.
