With the turn of the calendar month, the Cardinals have taken advantage of expanded rosters by adding speed (Adron Chambers) and an emergency catcher (Tony Cruz) to their bench. The team does not plan on making any other call-ups until Tuesday, when Tyler Lyons, Michael Wacha and Carlos Martinez will be added.
Cardinals outfielder Carlos Beltran left Saturday night's game with some stiffness in his lower back and is not in the lineup today as the club gives him a chance to rest and receive treatment.
