Today the St. Louis Cardinals placed Matt Holliday on the disabled list, retroactive to July 12, and with it called up career minor league players Brock Peterson from AAA Memphis. Peterson trip to St. Louis is likely to be brief, as Holliday was reportedly close to returning already and will now be eligible to return on July 27.
