The St. Louis Cardinals have purchased Michael Wacha from Memphis (AAA) today and the rookie right-hander is slated to make the start tonight in the Cardinals series finale against the Kansas City Royals. Wacha will wear uniform # 52.

The Cardinals optioned right-hander Michael Blazek to Triple-A on Thursday in order to make room for starter Michael Wacha to be added to the club’s 25-man roster. Wacha, the 19th-overall pick in the 2012 First-Year Player Draft, is scheduled to make his debut against the Royals on Thursday.
