First baseman Matt Adams was unavailable for the Cardinals on Sunday after waking up with a sore left knee. Manager Mike Matheny did not put an estimate on how long Adams might be sidelined by the issue.

A year after it was an ongoing topic of chatter in and around the clubhouse, Cardinals manager Mike Matheny said that it would be a "stretch" for the team to try and have Carlos Beltran play center field at any point this season.
