Cardinals Release Struggling Miguel Batista; Lance Lynn Will Relieve; Lance Berkman Prefers First; David Freese, Nick Punto Progressing
Veteran righthander Miguel Batista drew high marks from manager Tony La Russa for his impact on the Cardinals' team chemistry this year. This was a point that general manager John Mozeliak didn't dispute. But, as Mozeliak said with conviction Wednesday night, "At some point it's about production."
