Three games into a four game set, the Cardinals and the Arkansas Travelers had provided plenty of late inning drama to Hammons Field attendees. Strong pitching made sure this wouldn't be the case for a fourth straight contest.
Michael Blazek fired six strong innings, and Matt Adams hit a tie-breaking solo double in the sixth as the Springfield Cardinals salvaged a split of a four-game series in beating the Arkansas Travelers 3-1 on Wednesday afternoon at Hammons Field.
