Matt Holliday is getting closer to a return to the Cardinals' lineup, but it's going to have to wait at least one more day. Holliday was considered available to pinch-hit for Friday after sitting out the team's previous three games entirely.
With the injury to San Francisco catcher Buster Posey dominating talk around the game entering the weekend, St. Louis Cardinals manager Tony La Russa said he would like to see discussion about a rule change to protect both runner and catcher.
