It was a beautiful Sunday afternoon and the Birds were in green as they sported the first of Springfield's themed jerseys, St. Patrick's Day in April, to benefit Champions Committed to Kids. Out on the mound, a pair of righties looked to battle it out in game one of the three game series against the RockHounds, with Springfield's Michael Blazek facing Midland's Ethan Hollingsworth.
The Springfield Cardinals opened a three-game series with Midland with a 4-3 loss Sunday in front of 5,333 fans at Hammons Field.
