Down On The Farm
Thursday, April 7 marked the second official Opening Day of the 2011 baseball season as play got underway in what are generically called the full-season minor leagues. Schedules are shorter than in the major leagues with a 140-to-144 game format that runs through Labor Day, with playoffs following.
