Round Two: Will Matt Carpenter Find A Job In St. Louis Soon?
QUESTION: One would assume that no matter how well 3B prospect Matt Carpenter plays this spring, he’ll be sent to Memphis to play everyday while David Freese handles third base in St. Louis. The Cards signed Nick Punto as insurance for Freese and Allen Craig has gotten some work at 3B also. However, if Carpenter continues to perform at a high level in Memphis and something were to happen to Freese, do you believe Carpenter has opened enough eyes this spring that he could get a shot at manning the hot corner here in St. Louis?
