Cardinals Lock Up Jake Westbrook With Two-Year Deal

The Cardinals can scratch item No. 1 off their offseason shopping list, and they seem to have gotten a good deal in the process.
The Cardinals have reached an agreement with free agent pitcher Jake Westbrook that returns the righthander to St. Louis after last summer's strong two-month audition with the club.
St. Louis Cardinals Sr. Vice President/General Manager John Mozeliak announced from the Major League Baseball General Managers Meetings in Orlando, Fla. this evening that the Cardinals have agreed to terms with free-agent pitcher Jake Westbrook on a two-year contract with a mutual option for 2013.
Free agent right-handed pitcher agrees to two-year contract with mutual option for 2013 that could be worth $25 million.
