Memphis Sets 2011 Opener

The Redbirds will open up the 2011 season at home against the Oklahoma City RedHawks, the team they swept in September to claim their second straight American Conference championship in the Pacific Coast League.

But when the two teams meet April 7 at AutoZone Park, the RedHawks will be the Triple-A affiliate of the Houston Astros after parting ways with longtime parent club Texas.

The 2011 season will be the Redbirds' 14th in Memphis and 12th at AutoZone Park. The Redbirds, who fell short of winning back-to-back PCL titles last month when they lost to Tacoma in the championship series, will have home dates next season on Easter (April 24), Memorial Day (May 30), and Labor Day (Sept. 5).

Season tickets are now on sale. For details, go online to memphisredbirds.com or call 721-6000.
