Angels Purchase The Contract Of Matt Meyer From St. Paul In The American Association

The American Association of Independent Professional Baseball announced today that the contract of St. Paul Saints LHP Matt Meyer has been sold to the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. Meyer was 3-0 with a 0.00 and nine saves in 21.1 innings pitched for the Saints. In 18 games, he allowed just six hits, walked eight while striking out an astounding 42 as opponents hit a microscopic .082 against him. Meyer was named the Pointstreak Pitcher of the Week for the week of August 9-15, as he went 2-0 with two saves in 6.1 innings pitched. He surrendered just one hit while walking three and striking out 12.
