Cardinals righthander Blake Hawksworth earned his big-league spurs last July 29 when, with the Cardinals basically running short on pitchers, he worked the final three innings of a 15-inning, 3-2 Cardinals win over the Los Angeles Dodgers. Hawksworth gained credit for his first major-league victory, holding the Dodgers to two hits and no runs over the three innings.
