The Springfield Cardinals returned to Hammons Field on Wednesday for the first game of a three game set with Corpus Christi and did not waste any time getting on the scoreboard. In the bottom of the 1st inning, Adron Chambers led off with a walk and was followed by a single by Aaron Miles before back-to-back RBI singles by Matt Carpenter and Steven Hill. Andrew Brown then bounced into a fielder's choice to score Carpenter to give the Cards a 3-0 lead.
