Yes, I agree with my friends in the sabermetric community who claim that raw RBIs are an overrated stat. It’s absolutely true because of context; players who come up to the plate with more runners on base will have a chance to drive in more runs compared to hitters who have fewer ABs with runners in scoring position. So the raw totals can be misleading. No question.
