Brendan Ryan Goes From Starting Shortstop To Utility Role; Bronson Arroyo Believes Albert Pujols Not In Comfort Zone; Etc...

At least for the short term, less will mean more for shortstop Brendan Ryan.

Manager Tony La Russa confirmed Sunday that the Cardinals' struggling No. 9 hitter will be used in more of a utility role than as the everyday player envisioned when the season opened. La Russa disclosed his thinking as the Cardinals prepare to activate infielder Felipe Lopez today from the disabled list.
