On Wednesday, Cardinals manager Tony La Russa sounded like he was looking for ways to get Brendan Ryan out of the No. 2 spot in his batting order. On Thursday, he gave himself a way, and didn't take advantage of it. Ryan was back in the second position, and Felipe Lopez batted sixth.
