About halfway through the exhibition games in the Grapefruit League, the St. Louis Cardinals are going to ditch the designated hitter option when it’s their choice. For the first few weeks of spring training, most NL teams elect to use the DH to get extra at-bats for auditioning players. The Cardinals have done the same, stowing Allen Craig and Nick Stavinoha there. That ends today.
