The numbers are staggering – the 178 salary arbitration-eligible baseball players this year reeled in contracts worth $766,995,002. To place that figure in perspective, MLB pulled in $6.3 billion in revenues in 2009, so the total spent on salary arbitration players for 2010 chewed up about 12 percent of that total before ever getting to free agents.
