The Memphis Redbirds have been honored as one of two professional teams of the year by the Tennessee Sports Hall of Fame. In 2009, the Redbirds won their first Pacific Coast League championship since 2000. They share the honor with the Knoxville Ice Bears, the Southern Professional Hockey League champions.
