Mark Worrell Throwing Bullpen Sessions

Reliever Mark Worrell returned to the field on Monday, only 11 months after undergoing reconstructive elbow surgery. The sidewinder, one of two pitchers acquired from the St. Louis Cardinals for Khalil Greene in a December 2008 trade, started throwing again in December and is now participating in bullpen sessions every four days. Worrell believes he'll be ready to pitch in spring games by mid-March. "By early January I started feeling a little different, not sore every time," Worrell said. "I feel a little bit more optimistic."
