Ex-Cardinals Watch 9-19-09: Chris Narveson Pitches Career-High In Innings; Mike Lincoln Close To Returning; Jason Marquis Hits Second Half Slumps

Chris Narveson (Brewers):
Chris Narveson had an exemplary outing through a career-long five innings, allowing one run on four hits, with two walks and three strikeouts. The left-hander figures to receive additional starts before the end of the season, with Manny Parra ailing and Yovani Gallardo going into shutdown mode after Sunday.

Mike Lincoln (Reds):
Mike Lincoln is expected to throw off the mound prior to the Reds' Saturday night game against the Marlins at Great American Ball Park. When the 34-year old right-hander throws, he'll do so sporting some additional "hardware" in his neck.

Jason Marquis (Rockies):
Rockies starter Jason Marquis could not have felt good after one mistake marred his outing. With two out in the D-backs' fourth, Marquis threw a full-count slider to Brandon Allen, who hit it for his fourth home run of the season. It was part of a three-run inning.
