Cardinals righthander Todd Wellemeyer will be headed to join Class AAA Memphis for the final phase of his rehab. Kyle Lohse will do his work with the big-league team. And both acknowledge they expect to return to the major league roster from the disabled list as relievers.

Right-handers Kyle Lohse and Todd Wellemeyer are inching closer to rejoining the St. Louis Cardinals' pitching staff.
Wellemeyer will pitch for Class AAA Memphis on Monday and Wednesday at Nashville, throwing about 30 pitches each time. He will be a reliever when he returns to the Cardinals during the first week of September.
