Villanueva delivered a solid start, but the Brewers needed a five-run seventh-inning rally highlighted by Catalanotto's go-ahead single to avert a three-game San Diego sweep. Felipe Lopez followed three batters after Catalanotto with a three-run double and Craig Counsell added an RBI single as the Brewers batted around in the inning against four Padres pitchers.
