World Team Takes Lead, Then It Rains

The World team, managed by St. Louis Cardinals third-base coach Jose Oquendo, scored two runs in the first inning of the Futures Game at Busch Stadium today and then the game was halted by rain as the U.S.A. team came to bat in the bottom of the first. Barbaro Canizares of the Atlanta organization drove in one run with a single and Jesus Montero, the New York Yankees’ catcher at Class AA, drove in the other on a forceout grounder.
