Pete Parise was a respectable .285 hitter during his senior season at the University of Pittsburgh.
He finished his career as the Panthers all-time leader in hits with 253. But with no homers and just 22 RBI, the outfielder was not at all surprised when his name was not called during the Major League Baseball amateur draft in 2007.
