“It feels good to hear your name called out,” Terrasas said. “To be honest, I didn’t think I would be drafted.”
Terrasas was a standout for Santa Fe this season, sporting a .515 average in 22 games. Terrasas also had 20 RBIs, 22 runs, 19 stolen bases and a .621 on-base percentage.
Terrasas already has committed to Louisiana Tech on a baseball scholarship, but now has the option to sign with the Cardinals. He said his mind is not made up.
“I’m going to have to hear what (the Cardinals) have to say,” Terrasas said. “Right now it’s in the air. Everybody has a price. I’ll have to talk with my parents and decide how much they have to offer for me to sign instead of going to Louisiana Tech.”
