Brandon Yarbrough: Returns To The Memphis Disabled List

The Memphis Redbirds have placed catcher Brandon Yarbrough on the 7-day disabled list, retroactive to May 20, with an unspecified injury.

Yarbrough, 24, began the 2009 season on the Triple-A club's disabled list after receiving a promotion from Double-A Springfield during spring training. Memphis activated left-handed hitter on April 30 and he went on to play in 12 games, mainly as a designated hitter. He's hitting .269 (7-for-26) with one triple, two RBIs, nine total bases, three runs, four walks, and nine strikeouts.

The Cardinals' 5th round pick in the 2003 draft looks to be the corresponding move to Shane Robinson, who was optioned out a couple days ago, and odd man out in the backstop position falling behind Bryan Anderson and Matt Pagnozzi.
