Cardinals Minor League Notebook/Daily Farm Report 4-12-09

P.J. Walters carried a no-hit bid into the sixth as Memphis beat Oklahoma City 1-0 Saturday night at AutoZone Park. In other farm news; Springfield holds on for dear life to win 5-4 over Frisco; Palm Beach gets hammered up by Jupiter in 5-1 loss and Quad Cities is still looking for their first win of the season after losing three straight to Wisconsin

I feel for Jarrett Hoffpauir. He’s a marginal second baseman in an organization that LOVES to employ marginal second baseman. Yet rather than employ one from the minors the Cardinals converted Skip Schumaker to 2nd. Not to mention that Joe Thurston has shown a surprising amount of pop in his bat to further stand in the way. Still, it sounds like Hoffpauir has the right attitude about it.
