Braden Looper (strained left oblique muscle) had a satisfactory batting practice stint Friday. If he doesn't show up Saturday with any ill effects, he'll go on to the next step in his program, which Macha left unsaid.
"He threw the ball very well," the manager said. "But I don't know how he felt. I was just watching the ball come out of his hand, and he looked good."
