Keith Law Visits With Bernie Miklasz & Joe Strauss On 1380 AM

Blah blah blah Kurt Warner & Marc Bulger talk to start this off.

  • David Freese, fluke in the power department. Maybe he continues to hit like he did in 2008.
  • Brett Wallace can hit in the big leagues now, but his defensive is questionable. Praises hit bat.
  • Thinks the Cardinals are the second best team in the central behind the Cubs, the Brewers have fallen off.
  • Colby Rasmus: likes him as a athlete. At least a 20-25 home run hitter in majors. Various other good tidbits.
  • Chris Duncan shouldn't get in the way of any prospect, including Rasmus.
  • Sending Rasmus to the minors would push back his free agency time table.
  • Along with Rasmus & Wallace he names Chris Perez, Jason Motte, Jon Jay-average everyday outfielder.
  • Need average players to make minimum MLB salary.
  • Lance Lynn a fourth or little bit better starter?
  • Big turn around in the Cardinals farm system from 2 years ago.
  • Names off Shane Peterson and Niko Vasquez (a sleeper in the system).
  • Francisco Samuel a work in progress (high walks and pitch count), likes his arm strength (95-96 mph). Potential Top 100 ranking in 2010.
  • Talks a little about the Cardinals jumping back into the Caribbean market.
  • Cardinals have the players to make a blockbuster trade, more equipped to make a deal for C.C. Sabathia then the Brewers were.
  • Should Cardinals go after Ty Wiggington and Joe Crede? A big No, Cardinals have prospects to fill void.
  • Cardinals should look for starting pitching right now, Randy Wolf would of fit in the Cardinals rotation.
  • Could see a sign and trade deal (somewhere in the league)...Ben Sheets, Oliver Perez, Jason Varitek having trouble finding a team.
  • Draft compensation is causing problems for free agents signing with interested teams.

Bernie & Joe talk about Jaime Garcia (no news), Adam Reifer, and the non roster invites.
