Chris Grossman had his contract sold from Sioux City (American Association) to Brockton (Can Am League) on December 29, 2008. Brockton then officially signed the catcher on December 31.
Grossman, 27, finished the 2008 season batting .248 with 15 doubles, seven home runs, 39 RBIs, 47 runs, 63 walks, 53 strikeouts, five stolen bases, .365 SLG, and .378 OBP in 90 games for the Explorers.
He split time between Quad Cities (Single-A) and Palm Beach (A-Advanced) in the St. Louis Cardinals organization in 2007, after being plucked away from Sioux City in 2006.
