Cardinals Let Aaron Miles, Randy Flores, And Tyler Johnson Go To Free Agency

The Cardinals continued reshaping their bullpen and may have cleared a spot on their bench Friday by choosing not to tender contracts to three players on the 40-man roster.

According to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, the Cardinals decided not to offer contracts to three players -- utility infielder Aaron Miles and left-handed relievers Randy Flores and Tyler Johnson -- by Friday night's 11 CT deadline.

The Cardinals failed to offer the versatile infielder a contract by Friday night's deadline, making him a free agent. Miles is coming off his best offensive season since 2004, posting a career high batting line of .317/.355/.398 (BA/OBP/SLG), while playing mostly at second, but also at third, shortstop and in the outfield, a year that should warrant a new contract from St. Louis for 2009.
