In a move that has likely been coming for quite a long time, the Cardinals parted ways with Anthony Reyes on Saturday. The right-hander was dealt to the Indians for Minor League reliever Luis Perdomo and cash.

By dealing the righthander who just a few years ago was the organization’s top prospect, the Cardinals finally found the change of scenery that Anthony Reyes has been looking for.

As the Redbirds pitching coach for Anthony Reyes in 2005 and 2006, Dyar Miller not only got to see firsthand the type of ability Reyes had, but he helped cultivate him into the top prospect in the St. Louis Cardinals organization.

The Indians, in another move to bolster their starting pitching depth, today acquired St. Louis right-hander Anthony Reyes for Class AA reliever Luis Perdomo.

Never fully able to make the leap to the big leagues, St. Louis Cardinals Triple-A right-handed starter Anthony Reyes is now a member of the Cleveland Indians organization. Double-A reliever Luis Perdomo came the other way and will report to Springfield.
