Cardinals Minor League Report 6-23-08

Quiet news day. Springfield gets “rained out” because of the grounds crew. Palm Beach was also postponed leaving us with just 4 teams today.

It’s crazy eights with a lucky 13 as the farm system dominates from top to bottom.

It was a big day for Jon Edwards at the plate Monday, and in his first taste of the Midwest League, 18-year-old, right-hander, Richard Castillo tossed five no hit innings to pick up his first victory for Quad Cities.

With Cardinals vice president of player development Jeff Luhnow in attendance, Richard Castillo pitched five no-hit innings Monday night in Quad Cities' 8-5 victory over visiting Kane County.
