Rick Sutcliffe, Star Of 1984 Cubs, Says This Year's Team Is Better; Kevin Siegrist-Trevor Rosenthal
In the last 70 or so years, the Chicago Cubs’ 1984 club probably was best equipped to go to the World Series, pending, of course, further developments this year. They had won the most games in the National League at 96 and, to reach the Series, they had to win only one round, a best-of-five league championship series against a San Diego Padres team that had a terrible rotation.

Hiroshima Signs Nate Schierholtz For 2015 Season
The Hiroshima Carp announced on March 3 that they reached an agreement with thirty-one-year-old Nate Schierholtz. He was assigned the uniform number 57. Hiroshima was looking to sign another position player after Brad Eldred went down with a right knee injury that required surgery.

Ryan Ludwick In Crowded OF Mix With Rangers
Ryan Ludwick has played outfield for the Oakland, Texas, Cleveland, St. Louis, San Diego, Pittsburgh and Cincinnati organizations in his 16-year professional career. So he took it as a compliment when at least a couple of those clubs -- he won't reveal which -- expressed interest in bringing him back for a second go-round when he hit the free-agent market over the winter.

Nate Schierholtz A Candidate On Marlins' List
One candidate on the team's list is free agent Nate Schierholtz, an eight-year veteran who was with the Cubs and Nationals last season. If signed, Schierholtz would be a left-handed pinch-hit option who could play all three outfield spots.
