A Jefferson County man was found guilty Monday of punching former Cardinals outfielder Curt Ford in 2015 and using a racial slur during the attack.

Ferguson Protests Planned For Before Cardinals Games

Organizers of the four day-long “weekend of resistance” called Ferguson October are expecting between 6,000 and 10,000 to join up in St. Louis to “build momentum for a nationwide movement against police violence.” Mervyn Marcano, a spokesperson for Ferguson October, said groups involved in planning the events have been heavily canvassing St. Louis neighborhoods to come out and expects a great majority of attendees will be St. Louisans.

Daniel Suarez, a 28-year-old Collinsville, Illinois, resident and Cardinals fan, said he exited the Monday, October 6, playoff game to go to a designated smoking area and hand his friend a ticket over the barrier.
